Our efforts to achieve SDGs

Based on the principle of building a bridge between Japan and the world, ENGAWA conducts cross-border marketing endeavors that convey the intrinsic qualities of Japan to the world, creating a new field of business where international foreigners and Japan residents are united.

To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015, we value a cross-country and regional problem-solving stance. We will contribute to the sustainable development of society through our business activities.

The SDGs denote international goals set for 2030. Seventeen goals and 169 targets were established to achieve a sustainable world. Of the 17 goals, ENGAWA will focus on and contribute to three goals in particular, based on its business philosophy.

Rewarding work and economic growth

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

ENGAWA protects the rights of all employees and promotes an environment in which workers can enjoy peace of mind, i.e., a workplace in which all employees have the opportunities to develop their skills, maintain a sense of fulfillment, and cultivate work-life balance, ensuring that young people, people with disabilities, and all men and women have a rewarding work experience. In order to create this rewarding work environment, ENGAWA has set the goal of achieving equal pay for equal work. Through collaboration of all staff, the company will contribute to stable economic growth through co-creation and innovation.

Eliminate inequality between people and countries

Reduce inequality within and among countries

The company name of ENGAWA is inspired by the Japanese word “engawa,” signifying a place of exchange where people of all nationalities gather and interact. ENGAWA has members of various nationalities on staff. As industry professionals who express, respond to, and connect with the people and the intrinsic properties of Japan, we all are equal regardless of age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, or social status. We will take the opportunity to create a working environment in which employees are evaluated and treated fairly and equitably based on their abilities and achievements. We will continue to contribute to this goal.

Achieve goals through partnership

Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development

ENGAWA will actively collaborate with domestic and overseas partners through its cross-border marketing business. We will serve as a bridge between domestic companies, regions, and local governments and overseas media, marketing companies, and distributors, build continuous partnerships between Japan and the world, and contribute to solving issues that transcend national and regional boundaries.
